For me, one of my favourite parts of any trip is checking out the local shops- be it iconic international designers or up-and-coming local designers, I always manage to find a way to spend a few hours in some of the shopping hotspots.
Over the past few years, I have been lucky enough to go to some of the best shopping cities in the world and shop in some of the best Luxe boutiques. Here are two of my top pics for a luxe shopping trip.
When it comes to luxe fashion, Paris is the city on everyone’s mind- from the Parisienne chic street style to the worlds finest Haute Couture designers from Balenciaga, Dior, Carven and Lacroix to Saint Laurent and Mugler all of the greats have Paris as homes to their flagships, so if you are interested in luxe fashion, Paris will feel like home.
If you want to visit some of the best boutiques for any designer brands in Paris, there is two key areas you should visit- Avenue des Champs-Élysées and Rue Saint-Honoré, both of which are can be walked between which makes the perfect summer stroll- unless you have too much shopping.
Avenue des Champs-Élysées is the main shopping street in Paris, the place to be for everything from luxe and affordable shopping to cabaret, restaurants, bars, and clubs. Avenue des Champs-Élysées stretches from Arch de Triomphe to Place de La Concorde so is the perfect way to squeeze in both shopping and sightseeing and has some breath-taking flagship stores from Zadig et Voltaire, Louis Vuitton, and Tiffany. If you are looking for accommodation near this hub, Fraser Suites Le Claridge Champs-Elysées is located in the heart of this street and provides the most incredible links around Paris.
Rue Saint-Honoré is an exclusive area of Paris which has an inimitable collection of some of the worlds best designer flagship stores and is home to such iconic houses as Chanel, Dior, Hermés, Balenciaga, Celine, Gucci, and the former home to Colette, one of the world’s finest boutiques. If you want to take in some world-class designers and see some of the most beautiful shops, then Rue Saint-Honoré should be at the top of your list.
If you are looking for high-street shops, Les 4 Temps is an excellent shopping mall with all your favourite brands such as Guess, Sephora, Fossil and more. There is also a large selection of restaurants at Les 4 Temps and a cinema, so you can enjoy a full day out. If you wish to stay close to Les 4 Temps, Fraser Suites Harmonie La Defense is conveniently located just a 15-minute walk away.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Dubai, United Arab Emirates truly is the home to luxury in all its excesses- from some of the most expensive and fabulous hotels and spas, to the finest collection of world class cuisine and not to forget masses of luxe boutiques and malls to shop in.
Mall of the Emirates is the best place to visit in Dubai for shopping- the mall exudes luxury and is truly breath-taking from its sheer size to the dazzling waterfalls and architectural beauty.
If you are lucky enough to visit, you can expect designers such as Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Charlotte Olympia, Dior, Fendi, Marc Jacobs, Valentino, and Tom Ford as well as department stores such as Harvey Nichols.
The mall is the perfect place to spend an entire day- the number of things to do in the mall is second-to-none and in the desert heat, the air conditioning will be sure to make you want to stay.
Thanks for reading- it was a difficult choice, but Dubai and Paris made the final cut as two of my favourite locations for luxe shopping in the world- although New York, Milan, Rome, London and Las Vegas deserve an honourable mention.
